  • First Grade Teacher

    2026-2027 School Year

    Tamarack Waldorf School is seeking a full-time First Grade Class Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking applicants committed to teaching with enthusiasm and warmth, demonstrating effective classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills. This candidate should also have an interest and desire to work in collaboration with colleagues and within the guiding principles of Waldorf Education. This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a Waldorf Teaching Certificate preferred. Candidates enrolled in Waldorf teacher training will be considered but will be expected to complete a Waldorf certification program. 

    Our classrooms are culturally and socioeconomically diverse, and our top candidate must prioritize their curriculum development to work with diversity, equity, and inclusion. A full-time salaried faculty member is entitled to benefits such as health, vision and dental insurance as well as professional development opportunities, and tuition reduction. The position offers 10 PTO days, additional paid time off around holidays and breaks, and our 1st grade teacher will have an all-day assistant, in-house mentor as well as an outside mentor. Ideally, our top candidate will commit to carrying the class through 5th grade as their lead teacher.

  • Fourth Grade Teacher

  • Extended Care Coordinator

    2026-2027 School Year
    Monday–Friday | 3:00–6:00 PM

    Tamarack Waldorf School is seeking a warm, reliable, and organized Extended Care Coordinator to lead our after-school program. The Extended Care Coordinator supports a nurturing, rhythmic, and developmentally appropriate environment that aligns with Waldorf educational principles and meets the needs of our students and families.

    Position Overview
    The Extended Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Extended Care program, ensuring student safety, fostering meaningful relationships, and creating a calm and engaging end-of-day experience for children. This role combines hands-on work with children and light administrative responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and orderly extended care environment

    Provide consistent supervision and engage children in age-appropriate, creative, and calming activities

    Establish and maintain daily rhythms, including snack time, outdoor play, quiet activities, and transitions

    Coordinate and supervise extended care staff or assistants (if applicable)

    Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure timely student pick-up

    Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff

    Uphold Tamarack Waldorf School’s policies, values, and Waldorf philosophy

    Respond calmly and professionally to student needs, behavior concerns, and minor incidents

    Qualifications
    Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or after-school setting

    Strong organizational and leadership skills

    Ability to foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

    Dependable, calm, and patient demeanor

    Alignment with and appreciation for Waldorf education values (prior Waldorf experience preferred but not required)

    CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

    Desired Qualities:
    Warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children

    Strong communication and problem-solving skills

    Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere

    Respect for child development and individual differences
